چکیده

Post-translational modification (PTM) has a significant impact on cellular signaling and function regulation. In pancreatic β cells, PTMs are involved in insulin secretion, cell development, viability. The dysregulation of PTM cells is clinically associated with the development diabetes mellitus. Here, we summarized current findings major occurring their roles secretion. Our work provides comprehensive insight into understanding mechanisms secretion potential therapeutic targets for from perspective protein PTMs.

Regulation of transcription factor activity by interconnected post-translational modifications.

Transcription factors comprise just over 7% of the human proteome and serve as gatekeepers of cellular function, integrating external signal information into gene expression programs that reconfigure cellular physiology at the most basic levels. Surface-initiated cell signaling pathways converge on transcription factors, decorating these proteins with an array of post-translational modification...

Regulation of SRC family coactivators by post-translational modifications.

Initially identified as a group of auxiliary protein factors involved in transcriptional regulation by steroid hormone receptors as well as by other members of the nuclear receptor superfamily, the steroid receptor coactivators (SRCs) have since then been implicated in the transcriptional regulation of other transcription factors which are important components of very different signaling pathwa...

Transcriptional regulation by complex interplay between post-translational modifications.

Transcriptional reprogramming in response to developmental changes or environmental inputs is regulated by a wide variety of transcription factors and cofactors. In plants, the stability of many transcriptional regulators is mediated by the ubiquitin-mediated proteasome. Recent reports suggest that additional post-translational modifications modulate the ubiquitination and thus stability of tra...

Peroxiredoxin post-translational modifications by redox messengers

Peroxiredoxins (Prxs) are a family of thiol peroxidases that participate in hydroperoxide detoxification and regulates H2O2 signaling. In mammals, the four typical 2-Cys Prxs (Prxs 1, 2, 3 and 4) are known to regulate H2O2-mediated intracellular signaling. The 2 catalytic cysteines of 2-Cys Prxs, the so-called peroxidatic and resolving cysteines, are regulatory switches that are prone to react ...

Post-translational Modifications in Regulation of Chloroplast Function: Recent Advances

Post-translational modifications (PTMs) of proteins enable fast modulation of protein function in response to metabolic and environmental changes. Phosphorylation is known to play a major role in regulating distribution of light energy between the Photosystems (PS) I and II (state transitions) and in PSII repair cycle. In addition, thioredoxin-mediated redox regulation of Calvin cycle enzymes h...
